Launched in February 2017, Funding Societies is Malaysia’s first SME digital financing platform. The Malaysian-founded regional platform offers excellent short term financing solutions to SMEs and investment opportunities to individuals and institutions who wish to invest in Malaysian SMEs.

SME digital financing is also known as debt investment. This is when multiple investors contribute to raising funds requested from the SME to grow their business.

In 2016, the Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) appointed six SME digital financing operators to run financing platforms in the country. Malaysia is the first country in the ASEAN region to regulate SME digital financing and Funding Societies, is the first SME digital financing operator to launch in Malaysia.
